Meet the Team

Claire
Claire is a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (FMAAT) as well as being Xero certified.
With more than 20 years’ experience in accountancy, tax and business finance, Claire has seen just about everything. Before joining Accounting & General 10 years ago, she worked for a couple of the more traditional accountancy firms in Torbay, building a wealth of experience in all the essential (if not always exciting!) parts of accountancy and tax.
After taking a break to broaden her commercial experience in the motor trade, tungsten mining (so she’s quite used to working in the dark!) and real estate management, Claire returned to Accounting & General in 2025 as Practice Manager. Her combination of practice and industry experience means she understands not just the numbers, but the real challenges businesses face every day.
When she’s not helping clients, Claire is Chair of Trustees at Brixham Theatre. Fortunately, she keeps the drama firmly on the stage and out of the office!

Aaron
Aaron joined Accounting & General in 2016, his first job after his time serving in the Royal Navy. He quickly found his shore legs dealing with tax, accounts, and other compliance for our broad range of business clients.
His career took a temporary change of course in 2020 when he went to work for accounting firms PKF Francis Clark and Westcotts LLP up in Exeter, specialising in VAT & Customs. We could not keep him away though; longing for the personal approach we take with our clients at Accounting & General, Aaron returned as a practice manager in 2025. Aaron brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from his ten years working in Accountancy, in particular around VAT, with him taking the lead on these projects when they arise. He holds qualifications for AAT Level 4 and Level 4 Customs Practitioner.
Aaron is treasurer of the Brixham Chamber of Commerce and is passionate about promoting the town’s fantastic businesses. He lives in Brixham with his wife and three young children. In the spare time his children allow him, he enjoys the occasional run, learning to play the piano, and fighting a war of attrition against the weeds on his allotment.

Nick
Nick recently relocated from Blackpool to Devon with his girlfriend and their chocolate Labrador, Chewie, and we’re delighted to have him as part of the team.
As a Chartered Accountant with over 10 years’ experience as a Client Manager, Nick enjoys getting to know his clients and building long-term relationships, providing practical advice that helps them grow their businesses with confidence. He has particular expertise in supporting clients in the digital and creative media sector, where he has enjoyed implementing new systems and processes to improve efficiency and drive growth. Nick has also played an active role in training and mentoring new members of staff, sharing his knowledge and helping others develop their careers.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys running, going to the gym, and following Blackpool FC.
Since moving to Devon, he has loved exploring the local coastline and countryside with Chewie. He’s also recently taken up paddleboarding and is making the most of everything the area has to offer.

Alan
Alan (FCCA) started the practice in 2009 after an illustrious career as an accountant in industries ranging from textiles to cider, road repairs, specialist engineering, meat retail and Butlin’s!
Then latterly as a general manager of hotels, pubs, an attraction and a holiday island. For us he has responsibility for our legal side and gives direction and experience. Also a hand with more complex businesses and tax positions.
Available for commercial consultancy for hospitality clients (business turnaround/improvement). That is when he’s not travelling in his beloved Iceland, the country that is not the shop!

Tasmin
Tasmin is a qualified accounting technician, our payroll expert and our ‘Can Do General’ all-round problem solver who deals with HMRC, Companies House and other organisations.
She is Brixham born and bred, AAT Level 4 qualified, and currently doing a Level 4 Payroll Specialist course with CIPP.
She has worked at Accounting & General since October 2021 having previously worked at a Property Management Company.
She enjoys baking and going out for breakfast with her husband. She also owns a very spoilt French Bulldog called Max.

Olivia
Olivia is our accounts semi-senior and a super star AAT apprentice currently achieving high 90% marks for her AAT Level 3 exams at South Devon College!
She has worked in practice for more than 5 years, joining Accounting and General in July 2021. She works on a wide range of annual accounts, vat returns and payroll and is also our Making Tax Digital co-ordinator.
As an apprentice she enjoys learning new skills and is now able to use a wide range of different accounting software as well as spreadsheets to assist with accounts preparation.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, watching movies and spending time with family. She is also a black belt in taekwondo!

Rachel
Rachel achieved her AAT Level 4 qualification in 2020 and has been working in practice for the past 3 years. Her background is in hospitality and the charity sector, and she grew up in the pub industry.
Alongside her working life as an accounts semi-senior and our Xero expert, she is a trustee at Brixham Theatre CIO as well as the charity’s treasurer and general helper where it is needed, especially with IT, the till, bar and box office.
In her free time she enjoys being in nature, wild swimming and spending time with family.

Kasia
Kasia (Casha) is our part-qualified AAT bookkeeper.
She joined Accounting & General 3 years ago after passing her AAT Level 3 in May 2022.
She moved to beautiful Torbay 20 years ago from Poland where she graduated from Wroclaw University (Administration) and where she was working as a legal secretary in a local court.
She also has many years of experience working across the hospitality industry here in Torbay.
After work she likes cooking and reading (good food and a good book) and spending time with family and friends (sometimes it requires some travelling).
